Homemade Vanilla Ice Cream
Vanilla Ice Cream I love ice cream, especially when I make it myself. I got this recipe from Alton Brown who explained that by chilling the mixture before putting it into the machine helps form smaller ice crystals and results in a smoother texture. Spicy Cocoa Cream: Whip 1c hvy cream frothy + 2T superfine sug/unsweet cocoa+pinch cayenne mix well & whip to sft peak. Srv w strawberries.
Pesto: In food proc 25 fresh basil leaves+.5c evoo+1/3c pine nuts+pinch salt/brief pulse Add 1c parm+1/3 romano grated/process/toss w pasta
Roasted Pepper: 1 bell pepper on gas stove on med-hi. Rotate w tongs/char all sides. Rmv to bowl cvr w towel cool/peel off skin & rmv seeds
Roasted Pepper (alternate): you can also char the pepper under the broiler. Place on sheet pan to catch liquid. Rotate to char all sides.
